About Paul Newman
Paul has over 30 years of experience in a variety of industries ranging in size from start-ups to $300 million in revenues. He started in public accounting with the Big 4, learning their traditional, disciplined approach, and then branched into industry, with significant experience in manufacturing, aerospace, and telecommunications.
Paul’s primary focus is to help owners better understand the financial and operational drivers of their businesses, so they can achieve their overall goals. Whether the goal is long term profitability, a sale of the entity, or something in between, sound strategic and financial plans are key tools to get there.
He has a hands-on style which includes asking lots of questions and listening closely to the answers so he fully understands the needs and “pain points” of his audience. Paul understands owners need meaningful, timely financial and operational data to properly run their business and make adjustments and changes as necessary. He has a very strong focus on cash flow management, which is so critical to most small and medium sized businesses.
Paul has been Chief Financial Officer for several private companies in the $75 to $300 million range, including an aircraft manufacturer and an aviation-based telecommunications company. In those roles, he learned valuable experience in financial reporting and its ancillary activities, and has also worked extensively with strategic planning, banking negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, IT system implementations, Human Resources, and other operational activities.
Paul has a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He is a Florida native and has lived in the state in various cities virtually his entire life, presently residing in the Melbourne area. He enjoys various outdoor activities in the warm year-round climate in Florida, especially on the water in his sailboat.
